It takes credit about 6 months to establish, so depending on the history on the new account it will depend on how long you’ve had it to know if it will help you. As for the prior bad reporting it would depend on how bad. Were the accounts 30, 60 ,90 days? Utility bills are not always counted against you. Depending on how much credit you have established and how much negitive marks you have will depend on how much you can get but try Citifinancial. They may be able to help. Look in your local phone book, there are offices all over. Be careful as to how many places you let pull your credit, too many inquiries are not good for your score. It will only drag it down.
